#8562 closed defect (duplicate)

IE submits _displayed_ params but not FF

Reported by: stekell Owned by: Douglas Hays
Priority: high Milestone: 1.3
Component: Dijit Version: 1.2.3
Keywords: FilteringSelect Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:

Description

I don't know which is the desired behavior, but form widgets like FilteringSelect? don't work the same in IE and FF.

In IE 7, a input named relation.id will submit relation.id and relation.id_displayed_. Whereas, in FF 3, only relation.id will be submitted and not the _displayed_ input generated by Dojo.

For any Grails users out there, this breaks the data binding in Grails in IE when using a FilteringSelect? as a drop in replacement for a select as you would find in generated scaffolding on a related object.

You'll see something like:

org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateSystemException?: Provided id of the wrong type. Expected: class java.lang.Long, got class java.lang.String; nested exception is org.hibernate.TypeMismatchException?: Provided id of the wrong type. Expected: class java.lang.Long, got class java.lang.String

in IE but not FF

unless you clean out any of these params first
