Description

Run test_Textarea.html in IE8 (beta 2 and not Compatibility View). Click on any of the examples and press Enter. Now backspace to delete the line break that was inserted. It's now impossible to remove the newline.

With no obvious fix known, this ticket should be left open until a new build of IE8 is available.

(In [16090]) Fixes #2178, #4988, #7383, #8063, #8211, #8222, #8274, #8276. References #7740. Refactor the Textarea widget to use a native TEXTAREA element. IE8 beta 2 in strict mode will not auto-resize.
