Dijit Editor has a fixed size. When size iw changed the edit area does not scroll when it's size is exceeded

Description (last modified by bill)

Context: Adding the Editor to a Form. Scenario: The text editor appears in a Form with a fixed size. If this size is modified using Editor.editingArea.style.height = "100px" the Editor does not display a scrollbar when the input goes beyond 100px. Instead the input goes past the editable area into the rest of the form.

The editor is created programmatically:

var node = new dijit.Editor ( {
    id            : tableRow.id + "." + "1",
    name          : fieldName,
    pluginsConfig : "[{items:['bold','italic']}]",
}, "editor" );
//node.editingArea.style.height = "100px";

Note - tableRow.id is dynamically calculated and is unique.

You can't set the height of the Editor in that way... but there is a height parameter to the Editor that you could specify in construction time, like:

var node = new dijit.Editor ( {
    id            : tableRow.id + "." + "1",
    name          : fieldName,
    pluginsConfig : "[{items:['bold','italic']}]",
    height: "500px"
}, "editor" );
//node.editingArea.style.height = "100px";

Hopefully that will work for you. Alternately Editor can exist inside a layout widget (see the mail demo for an example).

Bill,

I wasn't sure what I should be using and took my cue from the API docs. I must have missed the height property.

Thanks for the info.

Sure. FYI heigh is an inherited property so that might be why you missed it.
