Description

many of the Dojo test pages use images from Shane's original Flickr Store links:

http://archive.dojotoolkit.org/nightly/dojotoolkit/dojox/image/tests/

These should be updated with more up-to-date/attractive images from Flickr pools. For example:

Or perhaps every photo tagged with dojotoolkit ? http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=all&q=dojotoolkit&m=text We need to get everyone to update their tags to use dojotoolkit as a lot of photos are tagged just as dojo which conflicts with the karate space.

hrm....I think the goal is to ensure that we benefit from the attractiveness bias that beautiful images provide. We're too scrupulous to go and rip off Apple or Microsoft's artwork (unlike every other toolkit), so the least we can do is to spot ourselves an advantage on this one. Pictures of people fighting seems like it won't really help us here.

I'm not disagreeing... that's why I said dojotoolkit tagged images, not dojo tagged images (so that we don't get the fighting images). You're right that the top images are probably more aesthetically pleasing, but also having a demo showing off dojo events and such would at least seem like a good promo for the next dojo dev day, or as something to include on the contributors page, etc.

And there I though putting in all those hours of work writing these things would be a good way to drive traffic to my Flickr photos....

Sounds like this can be closed. The test files are just for testing so it doesn't matter much what images they use. As for the demos, the only places I see flickr mentioned in "demos" are for DTL, dojox/data, and dojox/wire, all of which are essentially deprecated.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
