#628 closed defect (wontfix)

childIcon.style.display="none" not being respected in html generation

Description

I am using the Dojo 0.2.2 with Ruby 1.8.2 and Rails 1.0. So far

everything is great except for one somewhat minor issue.

I am using the Tree widget without any childIconSrc attributes on the div tag. I figured this would leave out the icon which is exactly what it did. Unfortunately in the background it is still attempting to fetch a URL specifically, in this case, /environment/url()

From what I was able to tell the "url()" is coming from the TreeNode?.js file function buildChildIcon. It looks like the code sets the value of this.childIcon.style.display to "none" as it should but then doesn't actually respect the value when writing out the html. I would expect it to not include the src="url()" in the html since the childIcon display is set to none.

So currently this causes 1 HTTP request resulting in a 404 per node in the tree. Generally though this would be annoying when reading the logs it would not be a major problem. Unfortunately due to the use of the SaltedLoginGenerator? in the way the forward after login mechanism works any page using a Tree will currently throw an exception on successful login.

I am currently using a blank image set to the background color to remove the 404 requests this is not ideal but will solve the issue for now.
