#476 closed enhancement (fixed)

Allow for custom DataProviders for ComboBox

Reported by: Richard Paul Owned by: alex
Priority: high Milestone:
Component: Widgets Version: 0.2
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:

fillInTemplate for dojo.widget.Html.ComboBox? sets the combo box's data provider to dojo.widget.ComboBoxDataProvider?(); with no option to specify a custom data provider. It would be useful if this could be specified elsewhere so that widgets that extend the ComboBox? can set a custom DataProvider? without having to override fillInTemplate (which involves copying all the code bar the single data provider line).

Code Snippet:

234: // FIXME: add logic
235: this.dataProvider = new dojo.widget.ComboBoxDataProvider();

fixed in [4288]. The new dataProviderClass property allows users to specify the name of a class to use when constructing the data provider. This is only over-ridden if the mode is set to "remote".

[4288] broke mode="remote" for ComboBox? and Select widgets

also there appears to be a typo (though it doesn't fix the issue above):

this.seachUrl = cbox.dataUrl;

should probably be:

this.searchUrl = cbox.dataUrl;

Yeah, that was a bad regression. I checked in a fix in [4298].
