#4354 closed defect (wontfix)

Pattern fill seems to be broken under SVG renderers

Description

(DojoX 0.9+)

While trying to emulate HTML CSS background-image things, I tried to use the pattern fill and while this seems to work fine with the VML renderer, it is not working under any SVG renderer (tried under FF/Win and Safari/Win?).

I'm not sure if this will require the use of the xlink namespace or not; I don't think it will, since Firebug (at least) is showing that the referenced image is being loaded as advertised. Inspecting the DOM also shows that the proper syntax is being followed (at least in terms of generation). Kind of odd.

Both Safari and FF do not support patterns. Opera does, and DojoX GFX works with Opera just fine => we generate the correct SVG. They promised to fix it on their side.
