Description (last modified by bill)

In test_Dialog.html on 'slow loading href' dialog, after it's shown, right edge attaches itself to right edge of viewport, and does not move on drag, but rather resizes, always staying attached to right edge of screen. not even bothering to determine when in nightlies this occured. suspect it has something to do with the width of the dialog.

If you are really patient and you can keep dragging the dialog to the left, the dialog will eventually detach itself from the right side and you will be able to move it normally. I wonder if it has something to do with the having lots of text in one line.

Summary: Dialog: resizing problem when loading wide text from hrefDialog: allow setting max-width

Right, it's just a requirement that Dialogs are small width, smaller than the screen. This is more of an enhancment request to allow setting a max-width on dialog.

Dialog 1.2 has code to shrink the dialog if it's too tall/wide but I'm still seeing the behavior explained in this ticket on the "Programmatic Dialog" button in test_Dialog.html.

fyi: the dojox Dialog has code to determine if the intended size will be larger than the viewport and adjusts accordingly (all sides, relative to the vp), but it is having issues in IE in edge cases (where the viewport is reallly small)

That test files displays correctly from version 1.2, or earlier. You can specify a width or max-width in the style parameter for the Dialog. In addition, the Dialog widget has code to shrink the dialog if it's too big for the viewport.
