#4214 closed defect (wontfix)

Split Container fails when deleting children

Reported by: guest Owned by: Adam Peller
Priority: high Milestone: 1.1
Component: Dijit Version: 0.9
Keywords: bordercontainer Cc: [email protected]
Blocked By: Blocking:

Testing with Firefox for Windows and IE6 with the 8/18 nightly build
Test case:

  1. Click on Split Layout button
  1. Click on destroy the left container (the space is still there)
  1. Move a little the left marker between the center container and the ex-left container (this marker should'd have dissapeared?)
  1. The left space dissapeares, but on the right pane we get two markers, one on the left (the good one) and one on the right (the new one?)
  1. You try to drag or click this marker (the right one) and you get an error:

'this.paneAfter' is null or is not an object in FF
'this.paneAfter.position' is null or is not an object in IE6

deprecated SplitContainer? in favor of BorderContainer?

is there an example to show how a single BorderContainer? can substitute a SplitContainer? with more than 3 content sections?

nested BorderContainers?. Several of the ones in the tests/layout directory show this. You only get 3 across/down for each BorderContainer?. It may make sense to have row/column layouts, like XUL/AWT with equal spacing? Could be a dojox.layout thing. Right now, that's sort of possible, but only on initial layout; the edges will stay fixed on resize and the center will grow/shrink.
