Description

There is currently no indication to assistive technologies that a tree node is expandable.

To reproduce:

  1. open the MSAA Inspect tool
  2. open dijit/tests/test_Tree.html
  3. focus "Africa"
  4. no "collapsed" state is reported

Solution:

  • add the ARIA state expanded="false" to expandable (but collapsed) nodes

The Mozilla guys just finished their bug related to this issue https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390629 . Working tree examples are linked from the 'tree' role here http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Accessible_DHTML#Supported_roles
