Charting on Mac OS X

dojo.charting has some issues in Mac OS X and Linux browsers.

Firefox: Labels are not 'drawn' (x/y-axis labels and tick labels), but the plot and tick marks are. Changing the font via CSS takes no effect. Safari: The plot is not drawn at all- plot, labels, tick marks, anything. Konqueror: As with Safari on Mac, the plot is not drawn at all.

Safari support only works in the WebKit? nightlies. Expect full support when Leopard is released.

The label issue with FF/OS X is a known bug with the Firefox OS X SVG engine, and is being completely rewritten for the FF 3.0 release. It doesn't have anything to do with the charting engine (though my understanding is that they are using it for some of their testing).

As Dylan hinted at, if a browser doesn't support either SVG or VML then it is not supported by the charting engine. That includes Safari 2 and under, and Konqueror. The engine does work in full with the Webkit nightlies (again, they contacted us and used the charting engine to get it going).

Thank you for filing the ticket but these are all known browser issues that we cannot solve; therefore I'm closing it as "invalid".

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
