#2767 closed defect (fixed)

M2: 0.9 xhrGet tests fail on IE 6 and IE 7.

On multiple Windows machines I have access to with a mixture of IE6 and IE7 setups, I see failures in the xhrGet() tests in D.O.H. This makes it difficult to work on (and verify they work on IE) items as many store impls and the like depend on xhrGet for the data retrieval. The errors I see are as follows:

[object Error] ERROR IN: function xhrGet(t){ var d = new tests.Deferred(); var td = dojo.xhrGet({ url: "xhr.html" self }); t.t(td instanceof dojo.Deferred); td.addCallback(d, "callback"); return d; } FAILED test: ../tests/_base/xhr.html::t::xhrGet

I tried dumping the error object via alerts and all I got out of it was: name: TypeError? message: Object doesn't support this property or method.

And the like. Will try to narrow down problem, but wanted to get tracker opened on it.

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

(In [8176]) IE has "issues" with calls to apply() on the COM XHR object. Work around is to directly call into open(). Fixes #2767
