Ah, you should attach testcases to the bug; that's standard procedure. You probably didn't know you can do that because you can't attach until after you've already filed the bug. It's confusing.

Here's the issue:

  1. user clicks combobutton to open menu
  2. user clicks menu item
  3. button loses focus, causing button.onBlur event
  4. button.onBlur() closes menu
  5. menu item never gets onClick event

Button.onBlur() needs to check if the blur event occured within the menu.

  • Ticket #2217 – Description

    initial v1
    1 I am resubmitting this as somebody at dojo didn't read the problem description properly and assumed that the link specified was an actual site.  It is purely the simplest html code that reproduces the problem.  Whoever solved the issue previously in #1758 was able to deduce this.  Maybe that person should be the one to review this ticket?
    2
    3 Just so the person that '''does''' review this ticket is aware, I have highlighted the link with the indicator that it is only a reference to a test case and not an actual site.
    4
    5 Prior message text in #2216:
    6 ===============================================================
    7 Previously this bug caused Firefox & Seamonkey to crash and IE6 to just fail (see trac #1758).
    8
    9 Now the bug is consistent across all browsers -- Clicking on the menu item fails to activate the alert.

     1Clicking on the menu item fails to activate the alert (or onClick event).
    162
    173The strange thing is that the bug code is basically identical to the test code in tests/widget/test_Button.html which functions just fine.
    184
    195The code still works fine in 0.3.1 for all browsers.
