Description
Hey Dustin,
Here's the trac ticket you asked me for, about transfering the old BerliOS openrecord-dev mailing list archives over to the new openrecord-dev list hosted at dojotoolkit.org.
I've bundled up the old openrecord-dev archive as an mbox file and placed it in my home directory on mastodon:
/home/skinner/old_openrecord-dev.mbox
We also now have some posts that have gone to the new openrecord-dev list hosted at dojotoolkit.org, so you may need to concatenate those posts onto the tail of the old old_openrecord-dev.mbox archive file.
Let me know if that file ends up not working for any reason. The Mailman documentation seemed to imply that Mailman wants the entire archive in a single .mbox, so I put everything together in the one file. But I can easily provide a set of files, if that's what's needed.
Mailman seems to include a command line script, called arch, that can be used to rebuild a mailing list's archive. I think Mailman just stores the archives a simple mbox file (or files?), and the "arch" command just reads the mbox file and regenerates the HTML version of the on-line archive.
I haven't found a good source of documentation about arch, but there's some info here:
Thanks!
