Your web site, specially your demo pages, doesn't work with opera...

Each time I want to see your demos, I must change my web browser because your web site is not opera compatible.

Different kind of accessibility...

I'm able to see the website just fine using the supported Opera 9 browser (on the Mac). Can you please provide more details on your platform and exactly which web pages/functions don't work?

Go at
Click on "see it in action"
Choose a category .. example : Effects
Click on "View Demo"

Try to use it.... it doesn't work

Other example :
Choose "Form Widgets"
Try FormTour? or someting else... I can't use any of the demos with Opera 9

Martin, as I use these demos, I'm starting to realize there are subtle bugs, but overall, I don't find them to be completely broken, as you description implies.

With effects, I see the demo working absolutely fine, though some things like the initial fade-in of the whole demo does not occur (I don't know if this is a limitation of Opera or not)

With the form tour, it seems to work fine once again, though there is no vertical scrollbar -- a problem, I'll admit, but I wouldn't have even noticed unless I'm doing a side-by-side comparison.

More description of the problems you're reporting would be extremely helpful.

martin: a couple of notes.

1.) the website hasn't yet been updated with the current 0.4 release. In our rush to get 0.4 out the door, the demos on the live site were not upgraded. Please file bugs against the latest release. 2.) creating noise without any signal is the fastest way to get your bugs ignored that I know of. I understand that you want Dojo to work in Opera, as do we, but unless you engage us in a constructive manner, expect us to pay attention to your bugs last, if at all.

Ok I understand.. I thought you can easily see the problems by trying to do the same thing I did. The first reason why I didn't wrote all the explication it's because of my poor english.

btw.. i didnt want to just bash your work.. I was just trying to help you to know that they have severals problems with opera.

Well... I'll trying to explain you what I actually get when I'm trying to use demo on

First for ComboBox? Widget -> expected result should be something like this

"This is a combobox that will auto-complete the user's input by querying the server dynamically based on the letters the user has already typed.

Try starting to type the name of one of the 50 American states, like California, Alabama, etc. "

but the only thing I see on Opera 9.02 on Windows XP SP2 (French) it's only a part of the text :

"Try starting to type the name of one of the 50 American states, like California, Alabama, etc. "

Like if the text is hidden by some CSS problem with Opera.

The problem looks to be just a problem with your Demo page's engine.. not with your widgets or something else, all works fine when I use your code on my website.

I have this problem with all of your dojo demos. The problem can be probably fix by using a simple and fastest demo's engine.. one page per demo instead of using javascript to load your demo.

This problem is there since 0.3 (new dojo website) and worked I don't really know how to explain you it better... I sent you screenshot of what I got and tried to explain you by words... but it should be better if some members of your teams try it with opera to see the problems in action.

Sorry to was not really cleared with my first post, I thought you can easily see it just by testing it.

I work for Opera QA and investigate this problem. It looks like a bug in Opera's opacity support triggered by the following styling on one of the demo IFRAME's ancestors:

<DIV dojoAttachPoint="domNode" class="demoContainer" STYLE='opacity: 1.00'>

This should obviously be fixed by us, perhaps even with a browser.js1 workaround until a core fix is available. Note that it does not cause any problems for the compatibility with Dojo framework itself or with the demos when opened separately from the main page. It only causes problems for displaying the demo inside the main page on .

If a temporary workaround on your side is easy it would be appreciated. I will push for a fix here.
