Not sure how far back we should backport these, but presumably at least to 1.9.x?

There's no reason to backport fixes for spelling, especially spelling in comments.

I thought we would occasionally rebuild the API docs, even for old releases? I know that the AMD example fixes that were made in #17468 , I've backported them so we could update the API docs for 1.9/1.8/1.7 once in a while to reflect fixes, since there's no other way to fix the old docs.
It's really not a big deal, but it does seem like an easy backport?

For the dojox portion of this, the backport won't cherry-pick cleanly, so not backporting for now.

Actually none of the spelling typos backport cleanly. I've updated master for dojo and dojox.
