#16744 closed enhancement (patchwelcome)

dojo web builder does not appear to parse dojo-data-type attributes

Description

Based on http://bugs.dojotoolkit.org/ticket/16706, I corrected our use of IIFE and now the online tool does analyze w/o errors using http://dv10.freegigs.net/git/kam/CloudSt/panel.html but only finds 7 dojo related modules. Based on James comments in 16706 it looks like the parser used by WebBuilder? attempts to find require statements but may not find widgets loaded via the dojo-data-type html attribute. If so, this seems to be a basic flaw in the tool where it should parse these html5 attributes and discover widgets loaded in this way.

The ability to let the parser load any missing modules was introduced in Dojo 1.8 (http://livedocs.dojotoolkit.org/releasenotes/1.8#auto-require). This behaviour is missing from our online tool as it was built before that. I'll leave this ticket open as a feature request but it's unlikely to be fixed in the short term due to lack of time from the development team.
