The onclick() method still exists and works: I can run

dojo.query("*").onclick(function(){ console.log("clicked"); });

from the firebug console after loading dojo/tests/NodeList-fx.html, and then clicking the page prints messages to the console.

Further, it appears to be setup from NodeList.js itself:

var _oe = "on" + evt;
nlp[_oe] = function(a, b){
	return this.connect(_oe, a, b);
};

Can you attach a test case of what's failing for you?

FYI, I see an onclick() method referenced in the NodeList-fx.js API comments and in http://dojotoolkit.org/reference-guide/dojo/NodeList.html.
