#14659 closed feature (invalid)

setting autoComplete to false does not stop the input search in dijit.form.ComboBox

I am using dijit.form.ComboBox?, and I would like to disable the auto complete. I am guessing that this should be done by setting the flag autoComplete to false. However, this does nothing, and I am still getting the combobox list displayed when I type a matching character.

Expected: We should have a way to disable auto search feature when required.

Also, it seems better to disable to search option if the combobox only contains one item.

The autoCompete parameter is working according to spec, that (to explain by example) if you type "Ca" and tab away, the ComboBox/FilteringSelect will automatically complete the value in the <input> to be "California" (the value in the drop down list that starts with "Ca").

I'm not sure what you are asking for. Perhaps that the drop down doesn't appear until the user clicks the arrow icon? And then, what do you want displayed in the drop down list? Every possible value, or just the values matching what the user has typed into the search box?

Are you sure you didn't want to use the dijit.form.Select widget?
