Description
Instead of overlaying the whole view, this pane/view overlays part of the (parent) view. An example can be found in the iPad Twitter app. Here the panes can be nested, too. Please check it out.

Yes, it is. This kind if views would allow the development of applications similar to the twitter or facebook applications for iOS.
