I got confused by this too, but dojo.query is in the doc, see http://api.dojotoolkit.org/jsdoc/trunk/dojo.query.

You are looking in the wrong place, the link to dojo.query is not in the tree in the left part of http://api.dojotoolkit.org/, but rather on the right part of the page... in other words the link to dojo.query is on the page for "dojo" itself. Presumably since it's part of _base.

that's the old site (another issue we REALLY need to address) the docs are there, they just don't show up under the method list, possibly a bug in the doc front end. As for the missing arguments, that's probably a problem with the way the faux definition was written in the inline docs.

There is a property attached directly to dojo.query, which makes the parser think that it is class-like and not a pure method.

You can find the documentation at http://dojotoolkit.org/api/dojo/query.html

OK, sounds like this is invalid, plus now that there's a dojo/query module it will be clearer for 1.8. Either way, the ticket can be closed.
