#11343 closed defect (patchwelcome)

a bug in the grid when populating cells with widgets (as in test_grid_formatters.html)

Reported by: alexsp Owned by: Bryan Forbes

Component: DojoX Grid Version: 1.4.1

Here's the grid problem I'm experiencing:

  • I want to populate widgets in the grid, as specified in the test_grid_formatters.html (found in dojotoolkit\dojox\grid\tests). This test runs fine and populates TextBox? widgets in the last column of the grid. The widgets are populated disabled but, when I changed their state to enabled, I discovered that the textboxes do not react to mouse input at all (e.g. 'mouseover', 'mouseout', 'mousedown', 'click', ...) and the cursor position can not be moved. I tested this in FF3, FF3.5, IE6.

The same behavior is observed if the Textbox is replaced with the SimpleTextarea? widget. It seems that something needs to be done to make these custom widgets behave in the same way as the grid's internal editors for mouse and keyboard events.

DojoX Grid and EnhancedGrid are deprecated in favor of dgrid and gridx.

You should upgrade your code to use one of those two grids.

We will consider patches to the old DojoX Grid code though.
