#11121 closed enhancement (wontfix)

Allow to configure the reference attribute

I'd like to make a feature request. Currently for the JsonRestStore? references have to be in a named attribute called $ref. What I'd like to see is that when the JsonRestStore? is instantiated, you're allowed to tell it what a $ref attribute is. If your server side is already returning URL's with say a 'url' tag instead of $ref, because other clients (non Dojo clients) use this tag, now the data side doesn't need to return to URL's, one for the $ref attribute (for Dojo clients) and the 'url' attribute for other clients.

Note that you can set dojox.json.ref.refAttribute to a custom property name (instead of $ref). However, this is a single global setting, and so admittedly a bit clumsy. I have strategizing on putting together a much more flexible system in place for 1.6 based on the latest JSON Schema RFC, so this is definitely an important feature.

This is configurable by setting dojox.json.ref.refAttribute to your desired reference attribute.

dojox/data is abandoned. Some dojox/data stores have been upgraded to use the Dojo Store API and can be found at
