My guess is that the DropDownButton (which extends _HasDropDown) isn't [any longer] catching the onclick event, and that event is causing the portlet itself to get focus.

_HasDropDown connects to onmousedown/onmouseup.

    1 Creating a GridContainer, adding a Portlet and then a DropDownButton with a TooltipDialog causes some problems:
    2 If you click on the DropDownButton, the ToolTipDialog will show up and then closes immediately.
