#15525 fixed dojox.geo.openlayers: map not visible if DOCTYPE is specified in the HTML Patrick Ruzand Adrian Vasiliu
Description

Strangely, all tests in dojox/geo/openlayers/tests have no DOCTYPE specified for their HTML, and after adding <!DOCTYPE HTML> (HTML5) in all tests the map is not visible. (Same result for the HTML4 doctype.) This holds for both dojo-trunk / Dojo 1.8 (as of 18 June 2012) and for the Dojo 1.7 branch.

Reproduced in various desktop and mobile browsers: Chrome 19, Firefox 12, iPhone iOS 5.01, HTC Desire Android 2.2.

This issue hurts in demos/mobileOpenLayers. Here, the rendering of the Back button of the Heading is broken. This is due to the missing DOCTYPE in the demo's HTML, and adding <!DOCTYPE HTML> fixes this dojox.mobile styling problem. But doing so the map is not visible anymore!

How to reproduce for the side-effect in mobileOpenLayers:

  1. Launch demos/mobileOpenLayers/demo.html
  2. Click/touch any item (town) in the list.

=> In the heading on top of the map, the "Back" button is badly styled (see attached mobileOpenLayersBackButton.png). No error in the console.

  1. Add <!DOCTYPE HTML> at the beginning of mobileOpenLayers/demo.html and run again.

=> The Back button is now correctly styled, but the map is not visible anymore (depending on the device, it might show-up for a fraction of second, them disappears).

This side-effect in mobileOpenLayers has also been reproduced in various desktop and mobile browsers: Chrome 19, Firefox 12, iPhone iOS 5.01, HTC Desire Android 2.2.

#15526 fixed dojox.geo.charting: map not visible if DOCTYPE is specified in the HTML Patrick Ruzand Adrian Vasiliu
Description

Strangely, all tests in dojox/geo/openlayers/tests and demos/mobileGeoCharting/demo.html have no DOCTYPE specified for their HTML, and after adding <!DOCTYPE HTML> (HTML5) in some of the tests the map becomes invisible or doesn't have the correct size.

This is the result of adding <!DOCTYPE HTML> to each test:

test_widget.html: => the map does not appear at all. test_europemaps.html and test_maps.html: => The maps does appear, but it is very small (does not fill the window anymore). test_mapWithCharting.html and test_mapWithLegend: => no visible difference of behavior.

A similar issue hurts for dojox.geo.openlayers (http://trac.dojotoolkit.org/ticket/15525 ).

#15623 fixed dojox.mobile.IconContainer: misbehavior in editing mode with scrollable view Eric Durocher Adrian Vasiliu
Description

When IconContainer is contained in a dojox.mobile.ScrollableView, the editing operation misbehaves as soon as the view is scrolled.

How to reproduce:

  1. Launch dojox/mobile/tests/test_IconContainer-pubsub.html

Dojo 1.8b1

(reproduced on iPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1 and Chrome 19).

  1. Press the "Start Edit" button (or do a long touch on an icon).
  1. As long as the view is not scrolled, the behavior is the expected one: when touching an icon, it zooms a bit while staying at the same location. So far so good.
  1. Now scroll the view (on desktop, you need to reduce the size of the window for this purpose), and try again to touch an icon.

==> KO. Now the icon "jumps" to a different location, possibly outside of the visible area. The distance from the expected position is equal to the amount of scroll. This makes the editing operation hard or impossible to use for scrolled views.
